2010 Paris Motor Show - Venturi Antarctica unveiled

Paris Motor Show has variety of vehicles revealed. Among them are also all the vehicles involved in Venturi’s global challenges. And here we’re to tell you about one that represents the Mission 03, Venturi Antarctica. It’s zero emission vehicle that has been developed with highly specific technologies to ensure it withstand in the extreme weather conditions of Antarctic. As a result, this vehicle can even operate in -50 degrees Celsius temperature.

Venturi Antarctica is managed by Fly by Wire and its joysticks are designed to control two electric motors that have high degree of precision. This 1,200kg weighing contraption has zero tailpipe emission and is capable of carrying 1 ton of personnel and equipment over a distance exceeding 150 km with a top speed of 40km/h.

Antarctic will be connected to the intelligent network at the Princess Elisabeth Station; can optimize the payload capacity depending on the production and availability of energy produced by the base, and will be solely charged by the wind or solar energy. Antarctica is the very first electric vehicle to be used on this continent and is accompanied by the Buckeye Bullet (Mission 01) and the Berlingo Powered by Venturi (Mission 02) in the French manufacturer’s booth.
