Hi Gurus please advice,
My 140 was approved in 2007 ,but today i got email from USCIS ,
Application Type: I140, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status: Case Transfered to Another Office for Processing
On May 12, 2009, we transferred this case I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow the instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to update your address. You can use our processing dates to estimate when your case may be processed by following the link below. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case by registering in the link below.
Any idea, what would be the possible reason for this? Please advice.
BTW I recently applied for EAD extension.

I have often heard about visa recapture in these forums, and always that there were lost visa numbers. I came across a DHS site yesterday with statstics on GCs issued, and must admit I am a bit confused about what visa recapture means. The site is DHS | Yearbook of Immigration Statistics: 2009 (http://www.dhs.gov/files/statistics/publications/LPR09.shtm) . Looking at table 6 (Persons Obtaining Legal Permanent Resident Status by Type and Major Class of Admission: Fiscal Years 2000 to 2009), we get the following data on EB and FB issuances.

I'm curious to know, what recapture means, when it seems visas have not been lost.
The only case for recapture is if we only count the years visas were under allocated, and ignore the years it was overallocated. The scenario would look as follows

I saw the notice on the website that my AP was approved but I haven't got even the approval notice yet, I thought It was strange. It was like that with you guys? Do they send the notice together with the card?

Actually it is 3 seperate images all of which are .png images with transparency, all which use A/S. You are right though, they are small images and it is a small flash movie. I guess with something bigger it wouldn't be a good idea.

Good advice vamsi_poondla. Changing job is always a problem in I-485 stage. Making this more flexible is one of the administrative fixes IV is proposing in the letter to the President. One more reason for everyone to mail that letter, if not mailed already.
correct please get to the core problem rather than duscussing the cursory nature of AOS status. We need to get a resolution to our problems. Please post the letters...!!

1. Do i need to go for stamping in Canada or Mexico
Answer: No, you don't need to get your visa stamped unless you are traveling internationally and need to re-enter US
2. Can i work for company B with my H1B approval
Answer: It is perfectly legal to start working with H1-B approval even though your passport has L1 visa stamped
3. To start my new job, do my employer should change my status
Answer: Definitely-YES. I-9 form from employer should reflect this
4. If going for stamping do my dependents also should join me
Answer: You do not need to go for stamping just to begin your employment. And regardless of visa stamping decision- it is not mandatory that you and your dependents should get go for visa stamping together

Are you sure that one need not pay for EAD and AP after paying the higher fee once? Could you please tell me where did you see this information. It is mentioned at USCIS website that if you had paid the new fee for I-485, you don't have to pay a fee for EAD or AP, otherwise the fee for EAD is $340 and for AP it is $305.
hopefully if we pay the $340 for EAD and $305 for AP for each person, we do not have to pay for it again until we get a decision on our GC.We just have to keep renewing these two without paying again..Please correct me if i am wrong.So its like pay one last time..hopefully.

I will take an Infopass. Did you get a new Card or they just corrected in their system?
My lawyer advised me to take an infopass to correct the name of my dependent on the EAD card. Instead of "e", they placed "a" and he said that I might as well have the name on the FP notice and I-485 corrected.

My wife will be coming back in April 2nd week through Denver. CO POE. Her AP is valid until June 3rd week.
My question is that is 2 months of AP validity / cushion enough or safe to enter the US.
Any experiences from forum members about using their AP when there is 2 months or less left in the expiry of the AP document and they entered the US. Did anyone have any bad experience at POE due to near expiry of the AP. Members entered through Denver, CO POE with their experiences would be an added help.
Also, will she get a 1 year I-94 validity from the date of entry or only until her AP expires?

My AP was approved last week (Monday) still to get in mail.
Seems like AP takes a longer route to the mail box in USCIS... Mine is at NSC and my experience is that everything out of there is slower...
Anyways I am greatful that they approved it and its in mail ( fingers crossed )

Self employment is an option. But the biggest issue there will be to explain the "permanent" aspect of it. But better than saying you are still looking for job (which can lead to automatic denial). Maybe self-employed approved candidates should come forward and explain their experience.
Future "permanent" job offer letter from an established employer is safer.
Dont loose your hope and continue job hunting rigorously. Location/Wage can be different for the new job, all it matters is "same/similar".

Probably USCIS figured they would run into a guy like you at some point and very clearly defined the law. You cannot start a company and do your own H-1 out of it. :D:D:D:D Sorry, better luck next time:D:D:D:D:D

I have filed on July 2nd itself and still no receipt, no FP notice, nothing. Called USCIS 3 times and they asked me to wait until it's been 3 months after the filing. Then only they will do something it seems.
BTW, how can I get to 2 Level representative?
I have filed on August 10th and I do not have a receipt either. I guess we need to be patient. I have checked even people with July 19th are waiting.

When you start your own company arent you the employer or part of the ownership and when you sponsor your H, arent you the employee too? Sorry if I am missing something here
