Guys:
I am currently working through a Consulting company at a client location.
Now, if I were to join the "same" client location as an employee after the 180 day completion of having filed I-485, what are the things that I need to keep in touch before I make this transition.
I do have EAD that is valid till Sep'08. Do I need to tell the client company that my I-485 is pending and that I can work using EAD or should I apply as anyone who would apply for the position without any strings...!!!
I would really appreciate if you guys can let me know any nuiances that I need to be aware of and any caveats that exist in this situation.
I appreciate your time and good luck to all to get the GC as soon as possible.

I would really appreciate input on the following:
1) What is the impact on a pending I-485 application if one is laid off and files for unemployment? Would an unemployment claim create a problem when I-485 is up for adjucation and about to be approved (assuming by that time one has a same/similar type of job lined up and is not unemployed).
2) What information does one need to provide for filing unemployment (I read somewhere that the A# - alien number off the I-485 application needs to be provided)?
3) Does USCIS get notified when unemployment is filed by someone who has an I-485 pending? Would filing for unemployment trigger any RFE's or alerts in the system?
Looking forward to some good guidance on this topic. Thanks!

I know we have to do a lot of work to get coverage but I was just saddened at the behavior of the bigwigs. They know the news and yet chose not to report it.

- We were on local KTSF TV, thanks to help from our Chinese friends
- We were local KTVU 2 TV channel at prime time
- We have been covered by local print media like Mercury news
- We have interviewed with local radio stations
- We had reporter from Associated Press cover this event
- BusinessWeek wrote an article about us
Mind you this is Silicon valley not some countryside suburb in America.
I encourage you to collect these links and post them in the existing San Jose rally thread so people understand the real breath of media coverage that this rally actually received. Our volunteers are too exhausted from yesterday's event your help will be appreciated.

Thats a valid question... sorry, but Im not sure on that - You'd probably need to check with an attorney...
In my particular case, they filed for H1B transfer in Premium Processing.... So, I was told that the H1B transfer will be adjudicated prior to the L2 petition..... Eventually, the H1B transfer got denied and I got the L2 approval notice a couple of weeks down the line.
I also believe that you can file for the L2 COS immediately after you come to know that your H1B petition has been denied. An attorney would be able to comment on whether this is legal or not.

Since the last action is you came on L1, you can apply for change of status to change from L1b to H1. Once it is approved, you can go back to H1b.

one more question... if I reenter using my AP then IO always take you to some place/room to verify something or its sometimes/randomly only? I just realize that my connection time while coming back from one airport(POE) to another is just 2 hours.

Can someone please provide the format of the affidavit.
Other than the copy of your marriage certificate, pictures, children's birth certificate, etc., you can send an affidavit signed by a notary public, perhaps someone who works at the local municipality/city hall, etc. In addition, you should submit proof of joint financial holdings such as copy of this year's 1040 and state tax forms filled as "married filing jointly" (if you did so), a joint bank account, joint property ownership such as house and car, joint car insurance, home insurance, other bills (to show both of you are living at the same address), etc.
However, I would recommend using a lawyer (if not your lawyer whom you seem not to like) for preparing the RFE; I guess you do not want to suffer setbacks in your GC processing merely for saving $400!

hahaha! lost this was by accident too! see i had to do an interview for a school so i was all dressed up, so i posed like a weather man for a pic....so i went to Weather.com and got a local map that i was going to use to put behind me. well the extract tool didnt do exactly what i wanted cause i had never used it, so i did it like a quick mask. so in the end of the filter it ended up making it like all 'rough' on the edges. so i brought the map in....scaled it to size on the screen (i sized it to the whole screen. oh by the way, after i imported the pic onto the new doc.,i difference clouded it).so after all that i put difference clouds on the map too. i changed the layer blend to color blend and vola. it looks cool w/burn too. i have been playing around ALOT w/it. i think it is a big step for me! :beam:

This is looking down the stairs outside my office, saw this for the first time today. I had the wrong lens and no tripod, so I just shot a couple to get a feel for the motif. This was the least blurry of the bunch - handheld at 1/6s isn't my strongest skill. :)
What do you think, is this anything? It has been done a gadzillion times, but maybe one more is interesting? I'll go back this weekend when the place is empty, with a tripod, and get a bunch of different versions. Anything you'd advice in terms of composition, angle, lighting etc?

my receipt date is Jul 14th 2007 , got RFE Mar 09th 2008 and replied to RFE Apr 09th 2008 and still waiting.... wat say with u all waiting just 4-5 monts.. thanks,
