photo coverage: Scenes from #iblog7 : Philippine Blogging Summit 2011
With my busy schedule, I got a time to attend the day 1 session of iBlog 7: Philippine Blogging Summit 2011 in Malcolm Theater in College of Law, U.P. Diliman. I went there to take photo coverage of the event and also listened to the speakers about blogging, I did miss the most highlighted part which is the forum about the proposal for a Philippine Bloggers Association.
check out the photos below
Here’s my panoramic photo view during Howie Severino of GMA 7 talk about “Blogging in the time of Facebook”
Here’s my panoramic view at the back of the audience (click on the image to view the large version of the photo)
I arrived late at around 11am and I thought that I missed Earth’s panel talk on stage, after I arrive in the hall, I sat infront and started to listen and record all the talks and forum in my Flip Camera. Earth’s topic that day is about “Blogging with Integrity” , her talk and slides are now uploaded at - Complete Text & Slides Of My iBLog7 Talk Topic: Blogger Etiquette
One of the host of iBlog 7
Here’s Regnard Raquedan narrate a fairy tale story about social media. You can read his talk over his blog - The Princess and The Wizards: A Social Media Story
Carlo Ople gave a talk about “10 power tips in blogging”, and wow! I learned a lot from him, especially that I need to use and learn Powerpoint hahaha. I’m so lazy in using Powerpoint, I’m more comfortable in making my slides in Photoshop and here from his talk, Powerpoint is a must! Learned from him about push and pull of content using social media buttons in blogs and got me inspired to fix our FB page using a nice layout of FBML. His examples like TV5 Fanpage, Unbox.ph blog and his blog is very helpful for sharing, also at the forum corner, I like what he said “Walang basagan ng trip!” ahaaha. astig!
Topic of his talk is now uploaded - 10 Power Blogging Tips (iBlog 7 Presentation)
One of my favorite session in iBlog is lunch time! Its networking time while I stand in a long line to get my meal. I met new bloggers and my blog readers here. Here’s a photo of Flowell sitting at the registration table and a photo with Florencio Jusay Jr.
Tall and sexy Samsung models are preparing to lure us with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, they roam around the venue and show how the tablet works. Here’s Fitz Villafuerte wearning his custom made shirt “Pinoy Blogger” with a background of lots of keyword clouds, and also his partner Don doing another photo bomb hahaha.
At the table, my seatmate is one of the guy from Sogo Hotels, and here’s a surprise appearance from Micamyx, kala ko nasa Europe pa sya…andito na pala sya
Photo shoot with Sarah Cada and Micamyx after lunch time. Jonel Uy is so serious here again in blogging on the spot.
Met some bloggers here, all of them are busy listening to the talk of the speakers on stage, some of them are live tweeting, live blogging, and live Facebooking. Janette Toral is like our captain in a big ship, as she navigates and control the program proper of the iBlog 7 for us.
Before my camera runs out of juice, I took a quick photo shoot inside with the audience and speakers, I left the venue after Howie’s talk, I need to teleport myself to Makati in 30 minutes and I can’t believe that I made it on time for my meeting there. Howie is a great speaker for that day as journalist blogger.
I found this paper with the hashtag keyword on the table…. and here’s a guy wearing an elephant head gear.
Saying good bye for iBlog 7… sayang at I missed day 2 too. Here’s my self photo as I walked out of the venue
And a panoramic view on the street as I wait for taxi cab. Infront is the Sunken Garden, and on the right side is the path to Malcolm Building.
Oh yay! see you next year for iBlog 8
---
If you want to know more about day 2 of iblog7, then check the coverage of my sister - iBlog7: I'm a Blogger. And You?
also there’s a funny moment here that I didn’t know that they projected my tweet that day and my tweet is about my reason for not attending day 2.
LOL!

The fun brunch at Seattle's Best Coffee
Check out here my favorite breakfast meal.
The Regular Breakfast 2
Every meal that is partnered with a corned beef will be my favorite. The Regular Breakfast 2 meal is my all time favorite after I discover this meal 2 years ago, there's also another version - Big Breakfast Meal 1, added with 2 two pancakes.
Looks heavy, but this meal completes my day.
Here's my Javachip Javakula, I chose this iced beverage as a great partner for my breakfast meal, I want a hot drink, but I must try their Javakula drinks. I like the taste and they have their own taste identity for SBC only.
My wife, Lace, ordered her favorite hot Chai tea. (check her blog post here)
and my sister's meal is a Big Breakfast 2 meal, complete set of meal with egg, cocktail sausages, bacon strips, pancakes and marmalade. With this meal, you'll get a complete energy and added back up power for the whole day.
Here are my blogger friends who are there with me for this fun brunch Seattle's Best Coffee bloggers event in their Greenbelt 3 branch, its fun to be with them and with this brunch activity, I started to get to know more of other bloggers who I just met for the first time or met for the 2nd time. Ordering drinks and breakfast meal at Seattle's Best Coffee in the morning makes us more curious on the ordered food of another blogger. Taking pics and of course share some food to others. Bonding time and chit chat never stop.
I have a growing and small collection of coffee mugs here at home, and I just realized that I don't have yet my own SBC mug. I forgot to ask the price of the black mug and I'll buy one for myself on my next visit. This mug will be a perfect companion for me during my morning snacks and check news on the internet.
All laughs and comedy during our fun brunch, I skipped table to table and talk to my blogger friends, I even pop up my laptop and shared my Walking Dead tv series download to someone ehhehe. We talked about zombies after wards. On the pic, Jeman posed as a SBC barista guest and he took a serious role play asking us who wants to order, complete with a "good morning ma'am and sir!"
The fun started when Jeman took an order meal from a blogger and then another blogger friend Mrs. Martinez took a role as a guest barista, we even joke that if she is the barista, we might order all food in SBC, and then on the side, Jeman under estimated the hot temperature of the coffee machine.
Logging on the internet during the fun brunch is a must for us, we like to FB, twit and plurk what we eat and how we enjoy the fun brunch. We also met Alvin, one of the marketing people for SBC, and also SBC's own brand ambassador, Joyce Ramirez, who also organizes this fun brunch at SBC. Many were surprised to discover that Joyce is one of the people that has a photo in a collateral posters and ad in all branches of SBC.
SBC's hot and iced beverages will keep you comfortable in any kind of conversation, hang out, your own me-time, quiet time, or for killing time.
Here are the complete roster of SBC's 10 Best Customers - premiere model-turned-hunk actor Akihiro Sato, beauty empire heiress Cristalle Belo, model and Animax VJ Stephanie Henares, celebrity daughter and stylist to the stars Alyanna Martinez, director Paul Soriano and International Publicist Joyce Ramirez, all of them loves their cup of coffee at SBC. And for the arts and business side, powerful icons like businessman and premiere coffee connoisseur Manny Torrejon; Team Manila’s extraordinary design and retail duo Raymond Punzalan and Jowee Alviar; author, publisher and leadership consultant Francis J. Kong; and metalscape and non-traditional contemporary artist Ivan Acuña.
You might spot these celebrities to any SBC branch, its hard to spot them anywhere, but staying in SBC will give you a chance to sit with them and drink your favorite coffee, I haven't got a chance to meet other celebs, but I know that Int'l publicist Joyce Ramirez stays alot in SBC Greenbelt 3 every Saturday, ( I just know and her gym sched every Sat. gives me a hint hehe)
For 2011, I want to list myself there at their SBC's 10 Best Customers, aahha, if ever they will have another round for this year. They should include a blogger in their new roster haha.
cheers!
