Red Nimbus store opens to offer Toki Doki items, Kid Robot and Vinyl toys

P5075198
A new pop culture store just opened last weekend in Robinsons Galeria, the new store – Red Nimbus sit on the corner of Jump Street Wing in the mall and they offer and sell authentic Toki Doki merchandise – tshirts, bags and baby clothes, Kid Robot merchandise, Vinyl toys and Harajuku inspired items. Sandy of Comic Odyssey told me about this after visiting him last Saturday’s Free Comic Book Day and he shared that his brother Gerry owns the big store. (More Story Below)

I went to the store as quickly as I can, because I got fooled on the ads that I saw in Facebook and I thought Red Nimbus is a local online store that sells Toki Doki X Marvel comics tshirts, but its my fault for not reading the small text below that they will open that weekend. Its great to see the store with a complete set up and interesting items to check out, Gerry told me that its their soft opening and I saw him very busy carrying boxes and sorting out all of those Toki Doki shirts, just like his brother Sandy, they love to set up and manage the store on their own. No longer need to buy Toki Doki items online, here you can buy and select your design from clothes to bags and even gift wrapper (I think I saw that Toki Doki gift wrapper on a table glass)

I didn’t noticed the Toki Doki X Marvel Comics tshirts, I’m not sure if it is sold out, but I will make plans to visit the store again and chec it out myself, I want a Thor or Wolverine Toki Doki shirts hehehe. I also spotted a cute Toki Doki long sleeve shirt for babies, I saw one design and I like to buy it for my baby boy Ashton, it has a price tag of P1,500. Vinyl toys are also available like the ones from Kid Robot and Dunny, I have little knowledge about vinyl art toys but I recognize some of the designs being sold there. Now we have a new store that offers vinyl toys for hard core art toy collectors, you can also place an order too here, just look for Gerry in Red Nimbus.

I read in their Facebook updates and post from fans, that there are pitches from their fans to have Red Nimbus a tie up with our local vinyl toy designers and urban art creators. Thats a cool idea, but I haven’t heard an update yet from Gerry about that, but I’m sure he is open to support our own creators, but then…he might focus first on establishing the store. I love the store, very comfy to look around on the items, and Red Nimbus is branded as a clothing store and not a toy store, well for me..its a Toki Doki x Pop Culture store.

Here are some of my photos inside the store (take a virtual walkthrough hehehe)

Here’s Mama Sally, Mommy Lace, Daddy Az, Baby Ashton and Pet cat Pulot

After having these dolls in our home, I’ beginning to think to collect different kinds of Matryoshka dolls.
Ok let the collecting begins!

Baby stuff and gear that I saw on TV

I saw some baby stuff and gear on TV, it was shown on The Today Show and I enjoyed the features of any kinds of products on TV, and I got some interest acquiring some of the baby stuff items. Let me feature it here in my blog.

image image
Tinkle Targets ( $5)
This paper sticker will be used in potty training your little boy on how to stand properly infront of the toilet bowl. All they have to do is stand and then target the image. The material is flushable and it is biodegrable. Kids will enjoy this and learn on how to never miss a spot during their potty times.
source

Az commentary:
I think that I can make my own version of this Tinkle Targets, all I have to do is grab a soft paper towel and use a pentel pen or marker, draw an image or a target bulls eye.

image
The Baby Crying Analyser ($30)
This gadget can analyze the mood of your baby by crying. The gadget can measure levels of crying and it can determine if your baby is hungry, upset, annoyed, sleepy or bored. I don’t know how this gadget works and I want to have one for me because baby Ash always wakes up during his sleep and starts to cry and I don’t know if he got scared or hungry.
source

Az commentary:
I always look on the face of my baby when he cries, that way I can understand more about him on what he really wants, but sometimes I get a hard time understanding it whenever his eyes are closed.

image
Mother’s 3rd Arm ($35)
This baby gear is really cute, its a wired thing with soft cover that is attached on your baby’s stroller, that way they can hold any item like feeding bottle with a little hold support from the Mother’s 3rd Arm. You can roll and stroll while your baby is busy drinking or eating, and have no worries if the bottle will fall, because it is attached safely to the Mother’s 3rd Arm.
source

Az commentary:
I want one!! this can help me hold any of Ashton’s toys

image
The Juppy baby walker ($30)
We have this at home, a friend gave this as a gift to us and we are very happy that Ashton got this at an early stage. It’s a perfect training accessories for him to learn on how to stand and walk properly. We can guide him by using placing Ashton inside the baby walker and hold the strap and it will prevent him from falling down. Although that I found a weird disadvantage that the baby walker holds the baby by the support under their arm pit.
source

Az commentary:
best for beyond 10 months old, sorry Ash…we need to wait more months for you to try this again

image
Always Clean Pacifier ($4)
This is a special pacifier with built it hard plastic cover, the plastic cover activates whenever the pacifier fell from the baby’s mouth and then to the floor. The plastic will cover the pacifier before it reaches the ground. This way, you won’t get tired of cleaning the pacifier over and over again when it falls on the ground.
source

Az commentary:
Ash never uses pacifier, but I hope they can make one for teethers.

I really enjoyed looking at these cool baby gears…I will update again soon if ever we found some interesting stuff online, on tv or at the store.

"For Poor people sign" posted in Greenbelt 4 captured by @jploh / Ayala Mall officials said it was posted by a prankster

Real or PRANK ?

This photo is now circulating on the net, I first saw this photo posted at plurk and then now in Facebook.  My Facebook friend Bob posted also the source of this photo - http://twitter.com/jploh/status/50792676181819392

then the guy posted his original photo copy of the sign  here

At first, Im thinking that the photo is fake and edited, then the @jploh said on his Twitter that he saw the sign along Esperanza Drive near Greenbelt 5 side. He also posted some copies of the original photos from his camera, I saw that the camera flash bounces on the sign, and now I can say that the photo is not a fake.

Then Bob said
@Az: Me & wife saw a sign that says "THIS IS A PRIVATE, CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT." but I didn't paid much attention to the following statement. The sign looks exactly as the one posted above. Saw that in front of TimeZone GB3 (at the entrance towards the Cinema Ticket Counters)

I saw this kind of sign months ago,  I think it is posted near the escalator in GB3
, but I know that the "poor" sign is not there. But I can't explain why Greenbelt posted that sign there in GB4.

What will be the words of Greenbelt management after the release of this photo. I love Greenbelt malls, but I'm disappointed what I read on the sign and looks like they are discriminating poor people to enter their mall, I just hope that this is fake and then I want to see Ayala Mall Management to take actions and find out who posted the sign there.

From the Exif data of the photo, Flickr detected that the photo was captured by the use of HTC Desire phone. oh no!!! the photo looks not edited :(

Good work for @jploh for taking this photo, if I saw that too, I'll take a pic too and posted it here in my blog. I remember that in Market Market Mall at the food court area, they prohibit people in getting water at the drinking station to refill an empty bottle of a mineral water.

Ok..let the investigation begin!

--

I just researched and saw that this is a similar prank case like what happened in Honolulu
and here's one in England were a prankster posted a sign that is legal to pee in a public place

I feel that after this incident, a group of prankster in Manila will rise, we should get ready and catch them once we spotted one.

@jploh shared this to us, Zarah Hernaez from Ayala Malls replied via Twitter to clear things up

On the Fake Greenbelt Signage

by Ayala Malls on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 3:57pm
This is regarding the alleged signage that has been posted today, 24 March 2011, at the Greenbelt mall, a photo of which has been circulating online. This signage is not authorized and is not part of Greenbelt’s official mall signage.

The Ayala Malls Management does not tolerate such pranks and is currently investigating the matter. We shall be coordinating with the proper authorities for corresponding actions to be taken.

We would like to reassure everyone that Greenbelt is for the enjoyment of the public and the community it serves.

Interesting gadget items at True Value

nokiac30487Here's my grand plan again, visit a store and check out what will be the interesting stuff or items that they have for me. Me and Lace visited True Value store in Shangri La Mall the other day, Lace was gone for a few minutes and me was lost inside the store, and while looking for her, I saw these cool items.

more photos below

Items are not that new, but in my own eyes, they are new and cool, so here's what I found other night inside their store while they transfer their other items into a new renovated store nearby, also the items are on sale for about 20 % off up

nokiac30487
Electronic Ice Cream Cone
The cone is made of plastic and it holds your ice cream, all you need to do is push a button and the ice cream will go up as you lick the ice cream until it melts in your mouth.

nokiac30485
I'm very interested to buy a set of these mosquito repelling bulb, for a price of P300, you now have an instant anti mosquito gadget. I want all our house be replaced with this new bulb. It will be good for baby Ash too.

nokiac30486
Here's a sample. Have you tried this?

nokiac30488
This gadget is for creating that foam over your coffee

nokiac30489
I saw this only on tv, magazines and movies

nokiac30490
I love to have this at home hahahaha. Been dreaming to own a dispenser and also a big bubble gum dispenser in our house, which you need a coin in order to get a bubble gum ball.

nokiac30491
Priced at P1600, this disco light show can float over your pool, I want to have one and will bring this on our next pool party

nokiac30492
My next target is to look for that underwater light show and fountain.

SM Megamall's mega expansion carpark site

CIMG9183
SM Megamall closed the entrance way of Mega B for their car park construction
more photos and story below

They closed that area for now and I saw lots of heavy construction machines digging the other side of the open parking lot. I think they are constructing an additional underground parking area.

CIMG9184
They should create more parking lots, SM Megamall has lots of foot traffic every weekend and when there's super sale events.

Shopping at Digital Walker Zoom camera store in GB5

P1262371
I always visit this store whenever I drop by to Greenbelt 5, and my eyes pops up last year when I first stumbled this store on the top floor of GB5. They have a wide range of camera accessories and gears, the last time I went here is that when I hunt for accessories and gear for my Olympus E520, I was looking for a Olympus flash unit and then I saw that they have stocks inside that display cabinet, I went back in the next month and plan to buy that flash unit, but I found out that all of their stocks are sold out, they say that I can place an order and wait for a couple of months, but I decided not to order and use my money to other stuff. Then I went back to this store few weeks ago, all loaded and ready to rumble hahaha. I purchase some stuff needed for my camera, and because that I practice flash photography today and using that Php 800 flash unit, I decided to grab some diffuser and other stuff for my camera.

check out the stuff that I bought from Digital Walker

I always check and used to buy items online, but I got this itch for the item and want to go home carrying the item with me, sometimes I lost my patience whenever I buy online because I need to wait for a couple of days before the item arrives home, but I no longer buy online and I always visit this store for my camera goodies!

fyi: this is not a sponsored post

P1262387
shutter remote control
I bought this for only P200. Im so glad that they have a compatible remote shutter for Olympus dslr. They also have remote controllers for other brands like Canon and Nikon. I use this always now in covering events and also for my group photo shot, so that I'm also included on the photo. I also ask someone to take photo of us, and tell the person to hold the camera for us and point it to us, I use this remote shutter to click the camera with out instruction the person on how to click the camera. I hope that there's a remote zoom feature in the future.

P1262385
extra lens cap
because that I have load in my card, I bought this extra lens cap for my Olympus E520, and it fits to the right size of my Zuiko lens with size 58. I purchased this for only P200. They have other sizes for Nikon and Canon. Now you can buy it here with an affordable price.

P1262384
omni bounch flash diffuser

P1262382
I bought it for only P550, I used the diffuser for a Canon camera flash unit because its the only flash unit that it can fit for my Yin Yan cheapy P800 peso flash unit. I found it very affordable, because in other stores they sell the diffuser at around P1,500. (yeah theres a store in SM MOA that sells an over priced diffuser).

but the sad part is that...after a week.. my diffuser was lost during my field photography duty in SM MOA.

P1262378
LCD camera protector
I bought this for only P600, at first I didn't like the glassy stick on for the LCD screen of my camera, I was looking for that plastic snap on thing but then the sales lady said that they preferred the glass sticking thing and much more stronger than the plastic protector. They hear horror stories from customers that their LCD screen broke when their camera fell on the ground or got hit from an edge of a table accidentally, and even with a plastic cover, the screen broke down, and now they prefer the hard glass protector. I don't know if it works, but I got scared and bought one for my Olympus camera.

P1262393
here's my remote shutter gadget

P1262370
here's the sales lady that helped me figure out if this remote shutter gadget can work in my E520. And I'm happy that it works well.

P1262373
Inside Digital Walker...ohhhh my lord... I want to buy a new camera bag and Olympus E30 body kit.

P1262372
camera accessories section is a treasure box for me.

P1262368
too bad that E620 is already sold out :(
I guess that E30 body can wait for me in a couple of months.. ehem..... July 2011 is my birthday
